Fernandes Serial Numbers Fg

I've never seen a serial number like this before. The whole headstock is wrong for a Fender. I don't think I would trust that this was a real Fender.

Trust this is of some help.I recently purchased a FG-140. The guy told me it is a 1952 model. Can this be true? Was Yamaha building guitars then? The headstock has YAMAhA wrote across it and where the nut is theres a metal plate that also says YAMAHA.Thanks,Steven.

I am compiling a list of vintage Yamaha serial numbers with their internal date codes. The 7 digit serial numbers are sequential, they have nothing to do with when the guitar is made. Inside the guitar, on one of the sides, is a date code in the format xx.xx.xx, the first 2 digits being the year of the SHOWA period, in your case it should be 46, which would be 1971. Any chance you can look inside and find those numbers? You'll probably have to remove the strings and use a flashlight and your cell phone camera.

Getting serial numbers with the matching dates code allows me to tell people when other guitars where made, and also what serial numbers where used in what year.

Which Fernandes guitars do you own and what do you like about them?

I have a Vortex Elite JP. I truly like its construction, wood type, perfect finish, parts quality, bridge, tuners, pickups, Sustainer and its comfortability. Its a guitar with great features and an agressive and stylized design and shape, its certainly a stupendous instrument!

This innovation its a plus that you don't find in other guitars, controling feedback and the support it provides for intros and 'noise' song endings is genius. it really relates to my music.

Masacre's future plans?

We are recording between June and July our new album entitled 'Brutal Agression' which should be out in October/November, also we were recently invited to Rock al Parque in Bogota, which is one of the biggest festivals in Latin America, joining Cannibal Corpse, Havok, Symphony X, Internal Suffering and many more. After that we will play at other festivals such as Mamut Fest y more to be confirmed, then we will concentrate on album release and touring, which will be accompanied by one or more videos.

Besides playing in the band, which other musical activities do you perform?

Masacre takes a great deal of my time, but in normal days I am also a guitar teacher in my hometown, Medellin. I counsel young rock bands as well, with the purpose of sharing my knowledge and experience with those who start in this road. I've been part of the selecting jury at several local rock festivals and when I am available and things work out, I join some of my friends and put together tribute bands to play at local clubs, paying homage to those bands that inspired us since childhood, such as Black Sabbath, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, and others.
